A written Examination for the students studying VIII Class will be conducted every academic year under the National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarship scheme sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi. This examination will be conducted in November of every year along with the National Talent Search Exam on the same timings.
Under this scheme, selection of the candidates for award of scholarships will be made through conduct of written Examination which is scheduled to be conducted throughout the State for those who have studied and passed Class VII in previous academic year and promoted to Class VIII for the present academic session. The scholarship starts from Class IX and would continue till Class XII @ Rs.6000/- p.a. The main objectives are:
i) To award of scholarships to the meritorious students who are studying in High Schools under Government/ Zilla Parishad/ Municipal /Private Aided Managements whose parental annual income is below Rs.1,50,000/-.
ii) To arrest dropouts at Class VIII and to encourage those students to continue their studies till class XII.
iii) To encourage the meritorious students those who are economically poor.
This examination comprises two parts, namely (i) Mental Ability Test (MAT) and (ii) Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) covering social sciences, sciences and mathematics of classes VII and VIII.
Four students in 2008-09, seven students in 2009-10 and seven students in 2010-11 were selected for this scholarship from our school and they will get Rs. 24,000/- each in the span of four years from class IX to class XII. Our teachers are conducting classes for getting the best result in NMMS test and they are reaching their target and placed our school in first place in the mandal and fourth place in getting more number of scholarships in the district this year.
